Richard Powers teaches
intermediate/advanced classes from 7 to 9 pm. Richard is our April
Fools dance music DJ from 9pm to midnight.
Richard will be giving the U.S. premiere of four dances that he taught last week in Japan.
Richard will be going for contrast on the traditional April Fools FNW. Silly seems sillier when juxtaposed with sublime beauty, and vice versa, so both the classes and evening dances will alternate between silly and beautiful.
7pm New: The Tokyo Polka line dance, plus a new waltz line dance that Richard created for Japan. Bonus: Rock'n'roll and Charleston line dances.
8pm New: Destiny Waltz and Lola Tango. Richard choreographed
Destiny Waltz while in Tokyo last week and it was the hit of the
workshop that he taught. Lola Tango is a classic Golden Age tango
from 1923.
