[Decaf Group: 68] Ubuntu Enterprise Cloud?

Does decaf work with UEC? If so, are there any problems or quirks in
doing so?

thanks for your interest. ever since we started building decaf we have been looking at eucalyptus (part of ubuntu enterprise cloud.) about 2 months ago we started implementing eucalyptus support in decaf. we implemented a trial version based on the old java library we used at that time. that worked quite ok, although the interface required a lot of work.

amazon upgraded its API in the meantime, which we currently support. and now we are testing if this latest amazon java library works with eucalyptus, which currently supports an older version. the firsts tests look promising, but we need to work on the interface.

the advantage of this approach is that we can distribute one version of decaf, instead of multiple. one of our most requested features is multiple accounts. if we have one version of decaf, with both amazon AND eucalyptus we can use one application to manage and monitor different amazon and eucalyptus accounts, once we implement multiple accounts.

we are working with both eucalyptus and ubuntu to test decaf. we'll be announcing this upgrade here, on our site (9apps.net) and on twitter (@truthtrap, @locomundo) in case you want to follow.
