Only 1 instance showing as running.

Greetings,

I recently installed Decaf on my phone and it is working fine except
for one issue. I have 4 instances that are all running, however Decaf
is only showing 1 instance as running. It is displays a green bean
next to the first instance and a red bean next to the other three
instances. When I select an instance that decaf says is not running,
it displays the "state" as "running". I have doubled checked that all
4 instances are in fact running.

Please help.

I tried to reproduce this without success :(

What happens when you choose Menu > Refresh in the Instances screen?
Do you still see the wrong red beans for running instances?

Hi Anthony!

We show a red bean for an instance in these occasions:

- When the instance is terminated (status 48) or stopped (status 80)

- When the instance is not any of the states running (status 16), pending (status 0), shutting down (status 32), stopping (status 64), or if we were watching the instance and it is not reported any more by AWS.

What you can do is use the EC2 Scratchpad to take a look at the status that is being returned by AWS. It's a simple page provided by Amazon that you can download and use locally to make calls to the AWS web services: http://aws.amazon.com/developertools/1424?_encoding=UTF8&jiveRedirect=1

If you make a call to DescribeInstances you can see if those particular instances are effectively returned as "16 running" or something else. Let us know what you see.

Could you also try refreshing from the Decaf Home (Dashboard) screen?
