It seems that Decaf, Monitor develops a persistent problem where it
will crash on startup some days after it has been installed and
operated normally immediately after installation.

I have just one system check, a custom URL on HTTPS. I am logging to
SD Card. I check every five minutes with "good" connectivity.

I sent an automated report a short time ago when the application
crashed and a message in the feedback field mentioning this post.

When I first experienced the problem, I re-installed Decaf, Monitor.
I configured the application again, the application appeared to
operate normally for some period, a few days perhaps, and again
developed an immediate crash on application launch.

hi wwward,

the forceclose has to do with a corrupted database, it happens when not opening/closing correctly. sqlite is quite sensitive to this. and the way android's activities (screens) behave makes it difficult. i can't reproduce, but i found changed the way we handle the database in some places. we pushed a new version to the market.

we will keep an eye out, to see if we have this bug. please let us know if you keep seeing this.

groet,
jurg.

hi dtwick,

did you manage to reinstall? (might be a nice feature to be able to save hosts/settings.)

that doesn't sound very ok. i never seen or heard anything like that, or experienced it myself. but it appears as if the whole app has been corrupted, somehow. we don't do anything outside writing the database and if you enabled that a status log to the SD card.

i also can't find other accounts of something remotely resembling what you experience. and we haven't seen any new bug reports in the google market.

we'll try to find other's with similar behaviour, to find out what is wrong and fix it if necessary. i don't know what phone you have, but with 2.2 i don't have the need for a taks manager so much anymore. (i never was a heavy user of task managers, but i did use them.)

groet,
jurg.

I have just experienced this problem. I have used decaf successfully
for several months. Now it does a forceclose on opening.  Also, the
coffee bean icon is gone and the full app name appears under a generic
icon. I am reinstalling and will see how that goes.
I use Advanced Task Manager for killing tasks regularly.
