I re-booted the phone to make sure the install was okay, but no error
messages, and the app responsive, but not reading any data.

Most probably what happened is that you mistyped some character in the
access or secret key. (We need an easier way to enter the keys, it's
too error prone now).
You can check in this way:
- Go to the Settings,
- Click on Access Key ID. If it's empty, then your key couldn't be
validated. If it's not empty, check if it's the right key.
- Then when you click OK in that dialog Decaf will try to verify the
access and secret keys. When it's finished it will say in the header
of those options either Account Settings (validated) or Account
Settings (not valid). In that last case, it means your secret key is
not correctly input and you have to enter it again.
