hi friends,
tomorrow is a critical day in the struggle to take back public education from the clutches of corporate, right-wing interests.
the naacp, nc heat ( north carolina heros emerging amongst teens--a southeast raleigh student organization) and others are converging on the raleigh convention center at 10am to protest the wake county school board's decision to dismantle their diversity policy and create high-poverty, racially segregated "neighborhood schools".
i will be driving and i know the umbrella coalition has up to 2 cars heading out there as well.
let's coordinate and stand together with the estimated thousands of others who will be in the streets tomorrow fighting to make another education possible!
to help make this as easy as possible:
1) please email me if you're planning on attending.
2) please email me if you need a ride and where you need to be picked up.
3) please email me if you have availability to drive others and how many.
for those of you who want to meet us there, here are the details:
10am: March and Rally begins at Raleigh Convention Center
Raleigh Convention Center
500 South Salisbury Street
Raleigh, NC 27601
12pm: End march at the Capital Building
3pm: Protest at the School Board Meeting
3600 WAKE FORREST RD
All out!
