Debian Squeeze Release Party

Hi,

As per http://wiki.debian.org/ReleasePartySqueeze and suggested by a few
member of our community, and since 5th of February is on Saturday next
week, I think there would not be a better to have such an event in our
beloved country too.

What say everyone in this list?

I suggest that we have it in some restaurant, just a us and some foods &
drinks? :D

5th feb is 3rd day of chinese new yr. I'm not sure how true it is,

i think most ppl (not only chinese) will take this opportunity balik kampung

 since next week whole week is holiday. 

1st feb federal day , 2nd until sunday is CNY.

I agree to postpone it to 12th Feb, as I am still in home town for CNY at 5th Feb.
And yes, I can verify that 5th is 3rd day of CNY.

Although this thread has long become in active, but I wish to bring
this up active again.

Debian Squeeze had already been released at 6th Feb 2011.
And in Malaysia, we still not yet celebrate the Squeeze release yet.
I think it is not too late for us to do a release party now.

As I suggested in the OSDC mailing list, I suggested that the release
party to do done together with other distro as well. Example, OpenSuse
which will soon be release.

By doing release party together with other distro, we can actually
save the cost of doing the event, as well as having more people
attending the event.
As people said, the more people, the merrier.

So, I would like to ask everyone in this mailing list, do you all
agree with this suggestion?
If agree, shall we make a discussion with OpenSuse Malaysia members
regarding this soon?
