Get Debian to recognize ibook2 HD?

I have an ibook2 600mhz /256ram/ 20G (IBM) HD and I cannot for the
life of me install woody on it. Everytime I install it fails to find
the HD as long as the install cd is inserted. I talked to someone that
said if I pass it the HD geometry parameters at boot then it will see
the HD during install. Has anyone else had success installing debian
3.0 from the CD? Any help is greatly appreciated.
