dpkg 'log' function

Hello,
Is there some kind of 'logging' function in dpkg. I'd like to see
what new packages I've installed over the past couple of weeks, and I
hope there a command I can run to see this informantion. There is
some information in /var/backup/dpkg.status.*, but it does not seem to
be useful without a lot of work. Thanks,
