Hi Tim,

what happened to the sagemath package? It is no longer listed in the
NEW queue, but it is not in Debian. Was it rejected? Why?

Ondrej,

The answer is a bit complex.

Yes, it was REJECTED a couple of days ago, because I stated the GPL2+
copyright status as "Copyright (C) 2005-2008 William Stein and
contributors" (following Linux's copyright file), rather than listing all
the individual copyright holders. I'm currently in discussions with the
ftpmasters regarding what should be done for the copyright file, because I
think that the list of contributors is growing too quickly for actually
listing all of them in the copyright file to have any utility. It looks
like they agree that no list of contributors is better than an out-of-date
list, but we shall see.

I see, thanks for the update. So this seems like a minor issue that
should be resolved soon (either way), right? I feared there were some
more serious problems.

Any updates on the status?

It has now been in the queue for over 3 weeks since our last discussion.
I don't have any news; my guess is that they are still procrastinating
reviewing big packages because many of the ftmasters are overloaded by
freeze-related work (Joerg Jaspert's recent announcement about adding
someone to the team suggests that they've been getting a lot of complaints
lately).

Yes, I noticed that announcement. Thanks for the update.
