PostgreSQL, Debezium, Apache kafka, Apache Atlas

I am currently working on a data governance project. As part of the research, can anyone suggest to me different ways pull metadata from PostgreSQL to apache Kafka to apache atlas? 

We are only looking to use open-source tools. 

1. How can I pull metadata from PostgreSQL through debezium to apache Kafka (a clear-cut solution is required)? 
2. Instead of debezium, can I use API to pull metadata from PostgreSQL, send it to Kafka, and publish it to atlas?
