Hello everyone,

I need help in configure the Debezium SQL server source connector. There are 2 parameters that i am not sure .

The following parameters are :
1) schema.history.internal.kafka.bootstrap.servers
2) schema.history.internal.kafka.topic

I already refer to the debezium documentation, but still no luck .

Best Regards,
Rithy

Hi Rithy -

All relational connectors, with the exception of PostgreSQL require the use of a schema history configuration, where Debezium records the schema changes so that it can resume with all the necessary state where it left off. The two settings you referred to are necessary when using the Kafka-based schema history topic, which is the default when deploying Debezium in Kafka Connect.

schema.history.internal.kafka.bootstrap.servers
This points to your Kafka broker, i.e your-kafka-broker-hostA:9092,your-kafka-broker-hostB:9092

schema.history.internal.kafka.topic
This is the name of the topic that Debezium will use to store the schema change history. This can be any name you like. The only requirement is that this topic must not have compaction enabled [1].

Let us know if you have any other questions.
