Thank you for the kind words, and I agree: I hope we don't scare off
the Christians, or any group of religious people.
The sad fact is that we inevitably will, and we have already seen that
in some areas. In two video comment sections, a fellow named
KinglyNumbaOne, about whom I will be posting more, shortly, has fled a
"debate" of sorts after being asked specific questions.
AnnaAgainstAtheists trolls atheist videos, posts what are actually
quite superficial comments, even if they are wordy and appear
scholarly, and then runs from being challenged. She has refused to
debate here (though she has given me a "just you wait, I might come,"
as if I should be concerned about that). A person named "rebreb06"
was also extremely easy to expose in the comment section of Pat
Condell's "Hello Angry Christians" video. I could name several
others, were I to give it thought. Those three are only the three
more recent or obvious that I have encountered.
I guess the point that I am trying to make is that we will inevitably
scare off the stupid, the frightened, and the arrogant, or those who
have a combination of those traits. We can't convince religious
people to think, let alone think critically, about the things that
they claim.
So, in a way, the service provided by this group is to make others
aware of the superficial and irrational arguments presented by
religious people.
For those religious people with intellectual capacity and the
intellectual courage to discuss the things that they so blithely claim
in YouTube comment sections, and then, often, find that they don't
have to prove, because the system was not designed that way, here's a
chance to follow the precepts of their scriptures and defend the
faith, intelligently. To that end, the only requirement, really, for
this group, is civility.
Thanks again.
