Greetings debate society,
Please note the following:
The students who will represent the Elmore Stoutt High School at the CARICOM debates are as follows:
Christopher Primus
Kennisha Powell
Kladius Maynard
Shamirah Langford
The venue, dates and teams have changed. It will now be in the Bahamas (we think), on November 3rd and 4th( we're pretty certain) and we will be competing against Jamaica (we think).
All members are expected to contribute to the research and development of our presentation.
Don't forget that we will be traveling to Nevis in February and those students who will be attending that debate will be those who have consistently contributed to the society's efforts and attend meetings regularly.
ATTENTION ALL
Last week's meeting was not satisfactory. I can see that we still have a few things to iron out. It was our first week meeting at this new time so we expect that next week will be better.
Next meeting: Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at 12:00 noon
You will NOT be permitted to leave and buy lunch during our meeting.
Tardiness will be held against you.
Each student will bring the following to the meeting:
- A definition of the terms - affect, current, CARICOM, economic, crisis, developed countries - tell which dictionary you got each definition from
- A list of 5 global effects of the current economic crisis
- $1 dues ( these will be collected weekly)
- A sandwich or salad or some other meal that does not need to be heated up. This should be taken to Mr. Campbell's room right before 1st period on Wednesday.
- A cold drink, preferably chilled from the evening before, to accompany the food.
- A pen or pencil and a small notebook or your folder.
- A diligent attitude
See you then,
M. Abednego
