The pseudo-scientific theory of adaption states (more or less) that
the living creatures which exist today underwent any of the changing
they did due to adapting to the environment rather than by random
genetic mutation per se. The belief in some manner of creation
beforehand would be required for this theory. The earth was stockpiled
with life first, and then the mechanism we call evolution took over
from there.
