Wassail in the Library 

Start the Holiday Season with wassail and cookies in the library during finals week - Monday through Thursday.   While enjoying the refreshments, check out one of our new books to relax with during the holiday break.  Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.




netTrekker representative will provide a training session at DeBakey December 11,  1:00 - 3:00. NetTrekker, one of the databases provided by the District, curates high quality and relevant digital resources to support the curriculum. If you cannot make the meeting and would like to learn about this beneficial learning tool, let me know and we can plan an additional training  (the condensed version) during an early dismissal day.


Discovery Education and Intel Corporation have teamed up to inspire students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math. Lesson plans, webinars, and video for teachers and students are provided for free.  Videos from student participants at the ISEF Conference are included in the resources.

General Alex Dumas, father of author Alexander Dumas, was born in Haiti.  The son of a slave woman and a French aristocrat, the elder Dumas was sold into bondage for a brief time, made his way to Paris, trained with the sword-fighting French aristocracy, joined the army in revolutionary France, and rose to the rank of general in Napoleon's army.  This intrepid general was the inspiration for the swashbuckling heroes of Dumas' adventurous novels.
