October is National Bullying Prevention Month

The video - Bullied: A Student, a School and a Case That Made History - is available for teachers to check out.   This documentary tells the story of Jamie Nabozny , a Wisconsin student who fought back against anti-gay bullying that started in 6th grade and continued through high school.  The video includes a teaching guide and provides guidance for educators to create an environment that is safe for students. 

Name That Book

HISD will host a book fair at Barnes and Noble to support the Name That Book Competition October 9-11 at 2030 West Gray Street.  Barnes and Noble Bookstore has been a sponsor of the competition for several years and has provided approximately $6,000 annually in prize money.  Please be sure to fill out a voucher if you make a purchase at the store during the book fair. Teachers will receive a 25% discount.
