Have you thought about moving the project to Github?

For me personally it would make it a lot easier to contribute to the
project, and I suspect other might feel similarly. It might also offers
slightly more visibility to those outside the immediate community.

Uploading the actual code wouldn't be too hard, with hg-git:
http://hg-git.github.io

Transferring the issues is also possible with
https://github.com/arthur-debert/google-code-issues-migrator

We are already in the process of considering it. As a matter of facts, DEAP
is already on github (https://github.com/DEAP). What makes us hesitate is
two fold. First, each Python EC framework that made the move simply died
there :(. Second, we already have a strong visibility with our googlecode
page, as our referencing for genetic algorithm and genetic programming is
pretty high. We think that this would be lost we the transition.

We will post our final decision here, expect it for version 1.1.0.

As you can see at https://github.com/DEAP/deap we made the move! You can
now fork and submit your pull requests.
