You can choose the appropriate tag depending on the version you want for candi. Click 'Tags' above the repository directories to check the available tags. Clone the repository with the appropriate release tag, and you should get the right version.
But, it is highly unlikely that it will solve the problem you are actually having - some of the dependencies have not been installed correctly. There is no way of knowing it unless you give the *.log file and not just the error message.
Also, why do you want to install it using candi, when you can install it using Ubuntu PPA?. It takes a total of 3-4 commands and comes with all the appropriate dependencies and is much easier.
