MacOS Monterey and deal.II 9.4

Hello 

I have just install deal.ii 9.4 on my MacBook Pro running Monterey on an Intel chip.
The Xcode and command line tools are up to date. I open the deal.ii terminal and trying to run my code I receive the following error message (see below). 
The previous version 9.0.0 on the same computer was working fine !!! 
Any suggestions how to fix it ?

CMake Error at CMakeLists.txt:38 (PROJECT):

  The CMAKE_CXX_COMPILER:

    /Applications/deal.II.app/Contents/Resources/spack/opt/spack/openmpi-3.1.6-pvpk/bin/mpic++

  is not a full path to an existing compiler tool.

  Tell CMake where to find the compiler by setting either the environment

  variable "CXX" or the CMake cache entry CMAKE_CXX_COMPILER to the full path

  to the compiler, or to the compiler name if it is in the PATH.
