Hi,

I am pretty new to dealii and similar things. I have already installed dealii but without other interface softwares, but now when I try to do the Cmake to other software some problems arise in the configuration (see detailed.log, CMakeOutput.log, CMakeError.log). I think that maybe could has something to do with the Kokkos link but I am actually not sure.
How could I solve the problem and why it is appearing?

Thanks and happy Christmas

Best regards.
Dani

Hi Daniel,

to me it looks like deal.II has been configured fine.

During the cmake configuration phase, we try to compile small code snippets to see if your system is actually capable of certain features, i.e., vectorization (AVX) support. This is nothing you need to worry about.

Best,
Marc

Can you show the error you see? It is normal that there are errors in
CMakeError.log, and I don't see any problems in detailed.log. As a
consequence, I don't actually see anything that would be wrong :-)

Best
WB

Thanks for the quick answer, I attached a png image (Current_State.png) where at the end is written: "configuring incomplete, errors occurred!", but there is no more information except for look at the CMakeOutput.log and CMakeError.log. I have not yet run the command make and make install, since I wanted to also interface petsc, slepc, adolc,... but it might be that there is no problem as you commented, that I am unsure.
I guess the logical thing to do is to interface the other software that I have already installed in my computer and run the make and make install and start with a tutorial to see that it works properly.
Anyway, I attached the image where it was written that an error occurred, if you see what can be wrong, let me know. Maybe there is nothing wrong and the problem is my inexperience.

Thanks

Daniel,

There is something strange with Trilinos configuration. Somehow only Kokkos was found, I don't see Epetra or AztecOO. These libraries are required when using Trilinos, I bet if you look carefully when the configuration happens you will see an error message when Trilinos is detected. Right now, if you don't use ArborX there is no point in enabling Kokkos. Can you try to turn it off and see what happens.

Best,

Bruno

Daniel,
Try to install using candi(https://github.com/dealii/candi). candi is a source based installer for deal.II for various Linux systems that can configure and compile many dependencies for deal.II with minimal effort.

Best Regards,
Syed Ansari.
