deal.II 9.8.0 release candidate 1

Dear all,

We have tagged a first release candidate for the upcoming deal.II 9.8.0 release.
You can find the sources and a generated offline documentation here:

https://github.com/dealii/dealii/releases/tag/v9.8.0-rc1

Alternatively, you can switch to the dealii-9.8 branch in your local git repository

git remote update
git checkout v9.8.0-rc1

It would be great if you could test it on your machine with your typical configuration!

If you own a apple silicon Mac, I have uploaded the dmg image for the release candidate at this address:

https://github.com/dealii/dealii/releases/download/v9.8.0-rc1/dealii-9.8.0-rc1-tahoe-clang21.dmg

This is built with the latest release of Mac OS, and the latest release of command line tools (no XCode installed).

Please, let us know if you have problems using the package.
