Is it a known issue that the Transmission Web Interface times out
(can't even get the login/password prompt) when Transmission is
downloading more than one torrent (CPU at around 30%-50%)? Even when
the transmission web interface stalls, snake's admin web interface
still loads up fast. This has been an issue for me since Beta2r1.

I didn't realize that... Even after some hours downloading more than 5 torrent it doesn't happen to me. Tranmission is terrific :) just need some config. options yet... (like move to a folder when finish, ask which files I want to download, start automatcally downloading or not etc.) Is it possible to adjust settings thru transmission-remote?
For some reason my downloads always start Paused.

btw, I have some problems when using ssh... It's common that terminal freezes.

AFAIK, those additional options are not possible with Transmission.
I've used rtorrent and those are all possible options. Also
Transmission doesn't remove the .torrent in the watch directory, so
after you remove your downloads, if you restart the NAS, it'll try to
download the files again.

BTW, I'm using Firefox to access the Transmission Web Interface.

Although using Snake OS since the first release, just now I started to
use the transmission client. None of the torrents I have tried so far
started to download (including ubuntu torrent). Using bittorrent on my
pc, the ubuntu download starts almost instantly. I have tried pause and
restart in transmission web interface but it didn't help. Swap is on and
the disk is formatted as ext3.

So, do I have to enable some port forwarding (virtual server) in my
router? Transmission uses a specific port?

Just to let you know, the nas is connected directly to the router and my
pc is connected through wireless by a Dlink 524 router that is used as a
switch (the Di 524 is also connected to the router by a LAN port).

Thanks in advance,

Moreto

Miguel,  do you have some type of Internet access restrictions enabled at your router?

Try downloading some file from the internet in a ssh shell at the snake.

example

cd /usb/sda1
wget http://tucows.whc.net/files/irfanview_plugins_425_setup.exe

Mauricio,

as far as I know, there are no restrictions. The bittorrent in my pc works and it is under the same router (maybe the bittorrent uses some other port number, I don't know).

I will test the wget tonight at home. After that I will write about the results.

Thanks,

Moreto

I think that use a text based torrent can be better. Coz we dont have to many resources to use. So, more RAM can we save will be better.
