To mark this year’s “National ICT Month” with the theme of Inclusive ICT for a Smarter Philippines, theInformation and Communications Technology Office of the DOST, together with the National Council on Disability Affairs, Centrex and SM Supermalls as well as various partners in government, private sector and people’s organizations, will hold for the second year in a row “ICT: Enabling People, an ICT Job and Skills Fair for PWDs”, on June 19, 2013 at the Cyberzone, SM North EDSA Annex.
With today’s current adaptive technologies and enabling laws Persons with disabilities (PWDs) are emerging as an integral part of our productive ICT workforce. Despite the hindrances that usually come with being a PWD, the talented Filipino manages to shine through, PWDs have excelled in jobs from IT business process outsourcing to programming and systems design to ICT enabled creative industries such as animation, desktop publishing and web design.
