Dead Letters Spell Out Dead Words Newsletter
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's been pointed out to me that mail-outs have become more and more
infrequent and I do want to apologize to everyone for the silence. I
have been trying to think of a good explanation for it, but I won't
bore you with the details. Suffice to say that there are many, many
reasons for it. Some good, some not so good. Hopefully I'll be able to
get up to speed with things during the coming fall. The redesigned,
streamlined deadwords.org hasn't happened either. I am still playing
around with a couple of different ideas concerning the site, but only
the future will tell what will really happen.

Enough with the excuses, I do have a couple of things to report in the
form of three new releases:

"Fall, Fall, Falling"
CD/C-56 on Kalligrammofon

I've talked a lot about this album for a long time and it finally saw
the light of day a couple of months ago. So far it's rendered a lot of
positive feedback, including being made Album of the Month at
itsatrap.com.

"Fall, Fall, Falling" might come to as a shock to some of you. While
there's always been a sense of pulse, rhythm and melody in my work,
this album takes it one step further. Though still very much based on
the drone, "Fall, Fall, Falling" is rooted in much more traditional
song structures even going so far as to introduce drums in the mix.
It's still Dead Letters though, layered, micro tonal and hypnotic.

Thematically the album takes off where "Old Ghosts, New Ghosts, All
Ghosts" left off. It's about yearning, for what was, for what could've
been or for it to never have existed. It's about breaking
down...apart... up. It's about grotesque reactions and the distortion
of memories. It's about self-destruction, -mutilation and -loathing.
It's about scars/shards. It's about that sinking feeling. It's about
falling.

The cassette version includes a bonus track not on the CD. I have
copies of both for sale for 16 and 8 bucks respectively or get them
both for 20 bucks. The pay-pal handle is as always
con...@whenskiesaregrey.se. Get in touch for other payment options.

"For Walls"
C-20 on When Skies Are Grey
"PK365"
C-40 on Spanking Rituals

These two really belong together. They've both been assembled during
june and july and they both deal with the same emotions and events.
They're about being locked in, in both a very literal and a
metaphorical sense. They are about laying in a strange bed, in a small
room about four by four meters, staring at the same spot in the
ceiling for hours on end. They are about waiting for death. If only
because life seem so far away and unreachable. There are many words
that pop into my head when trying to describe these two cassettes.
Stasis. Claustrophobia. Apathy. Emptiness. But I can't even listen to
them objectively, let alone try to convey their meaning in words, so
why try?

Both of these where released in conjunction with this years Norberg
Festival here in Sweden and they are almost sold out. There might be a
repress of PK365 though. I do have a few copies left of each and
they're 8 bucks each or 14 for both of them. Please drop me an email
to reserve your copies before you send me any money.

Other than that there's nothing much to report. Future releases
include a contribution to iDEALISM Sound Series Vol. 1 CD, another
album for iDEAL entitled »Lost In Reflection«. I have also started
preparing yet another album, but that's still at the sketch stage so I
won't say much more about it yet.

That's it for now
Take Care & Control
