USA - the Rogue State?

The US has sometimes appeared to be not merely determined, but actually
itching for war: this has alarmed its allies at least as much as its
adversaries. For the US to show respect for opinion at the UN would be to
undo some of the damage done by its interventionist doctrine.

The worst will come to the worst. Whatever the reslts of a second resolution
could be, the USA have already been rebuked by the Word public opinions, by
most ofthe moral n spiritual leaders ofthe World, including - and this is
not the least -all Christians curches but one of them. Therefore , a
forced UN agreement on the war in Iraq would not help to bring any more
legitimiy to an action that is already clearly seen as a "coup de force" of
a bully imperialistic nation.

And as it is very likely that a Security Council resolution authorising
force will fail, and the prospect then arises of US-led coalition going to
war with Iraq without benefit of authorisation from the very body whose
resolutions it has claimed to uphold. The UK, whatever it did, would be
caught in the wirlwind of that calamity, in supporting an out-of-law state
carrying an illegal war.

What is the legality of the US and UK pushing ahead in such circumstances?
There are many distinguished international lawyers, including the 16 whose
letter was published in the Guardian on Friday, who would assert that such
action is without justification in international law. If the US and UK
ignored a veto, would that entitle others to enforce the UN refusal of a war
in Iraq. Later would that encorage others to over-ride other vetoes? But as
major OFFENDERS to UN it would certainly reinforce questions as to whether
the UK a,d USA was entitled to its place on the Security Council.

Will the UN lose all credibility if the Security Council fails to act now?
The UN's demise has been announced on numerous occasions in the past. UN
would survive , because it is not made only of the few meembers of the
permanent council. UN would be pressured, however, to be more
representative of the global world opinions and people. The USA is but one
country and a vast majorty of countries in the world are fiercly againts its
way to consider world issues.

Never, before 2003, has a major power sought to act militarily on behalf of
the UN and received such a major theatrical rebuff. The USA is now
considered as a threat to the world peace, and it is not the UN that will
suffer from it. On the contrary UN will be asked to be firmer and to protect
the world community against a superpower that thries to create an illegal
and unilateral worldorder.

If the ill-tempered row persists, the UN will not die, but there will be a
fight to put ill-players and cheaters, bullies and imperialists, back in the
row of the world community. They are may means of pressure that do ot
require war or physical action. The costs of beeing seen as the new Rogue
State will be for the USA a calamity that their economy, their influence,
and even their self-confidence, will have to pay for decades. By
undermining the world community and its bodies, the USA have clearly shows
their contempt, and contemp will backfire very strongly .

Well, maybe the UN should pass a resolution?

Now do you see the futility of the UN in it's current state?

Well we will never know because you snipped it and presented it as if it
were your own unique thoughts. You are nothing more than a plagiarizing fool
or a liar at best. As for the article Blah blah blah just more liberal
tripe.

Dear high function electrical DarkMatter, sure you can 'better the world'
much as an electrical engineer ... All the people I know who are doing
things to better this world never boast on it like you do, it's plain
childish . They are mute about their deeds.

Btw: I know an electrical engineer who bettered the world: he designed a
Led-lamp for african villages giving them cheap ight without having to buy
expensive fuel from Exxon , or pay fees to an electricity company.

it is an edited article, you ass. Original authors would not agree with the
current text. For I have inserted new facts.

Geez, next you will go after folks just for having WebTV. I for one
happen to like Outlook Newsreader more than Forte Agent. Top posting
fucktards, well I cannot speak to that issue.

Knowing that Forte Agent exists shows computer savvy, and as such that is
why less FA top posters exist than OE top posters. I do like OE, and the
message filters are almost as good as the FA ones. It bothers me that Free
Agent is crippleware compared to Agent, and that Agent is $30. Not that a
million keygen's don't exist on WinMX, Kazaa, Limewire, etc. :-)

ISP's are just about the money. Those stupid TOS's are written in sand.
Anything goes - Usenet is the wild, wild west! It even has it's very own
token "Forrest Gump"; Amigocabal/Strider/Professor.

I'm learning that it's crap for newsgroups but don't know any alternatives.
Can you suggest any good ones?
