I have heard about playing D and D on Mirc or other chat areas. Has anyone
here done this. Where can I get info on DMing such games. Or, at least,
sitting in on a game.

Try going to www.webrpg.com and go to the WebRPG online link. You have
to download their client and the Java engine, but it is made for
gamers. I've become rather fond of it.

There's nothing special to get. Just get onto IRC with a bunch of people
and start playing.
