Duties:
Will provide overall guidance and direction on the use of databases
within the existing applications and is the primary designer/architect
for all new database applications
Responsible for all coherent approach, both short and long term, in the
use of RDBMS databases for all client services, production systems and
products.
As part of this function, this individual consults with management and
reviews the project proposals to determine goals, time frame and
personnel resources for accomplishing the database portion of any
project
Will recommend and develop database designs and structures for system
development, hardware and software purchases, budgeting and staffing
Qualifications
Working knowledge of c/c++ and UNIX
Knowledge of Windows NT and Visual Basic
Thorough understanding of Oracle R8.X, ODBC standards and development
tools required for the design and optimizing of RDBMS databases
Demonstrated leadership in leading a small group of programmers. An
ability to work well with others and to convey information in a clear,
concise and understandable manner
Will develop project estimates for Senior Management
Undergraduate degree in Computer Sciences or electrical engineering or
the equivalent plus ten more years of industry experience
