Must I allways use a DVB-s-card in combination with Linux DVR 0.98?:

Hi,

I'm pretty much new on this topic. I'm trying to build a Digital Video
Recorder. I read www.linuxtv.org I that TV-DVB-s-cards are supported,
but I haven't read anything about analogue cards. Because I don't have
a digital satalite-connection I need to use another card. Is there
anyone who has experiences with other TV cards, that don't have DVB-s?

Cheers,

Dag Henk-Jan,

you are probably looking for the English-speaking maillist archive of
the vdr project. You will find it at
http://www.linuxtv.org/mailinglists/vdr/ .

Look out for DVB-c (cable) and/or DVB-t (terrestric).

BTW: Use VDR-0.99 or 1.0.0pre2, there were some EPG incompatibilities
with German Pro7 in 0.98, which caused a segmentation fault.

Regards,
Dirk
