Undefined control sequence with \url

I get an error in a Bibtex item, in which I wrote an \url in a note
field. Now the parser says, there is an error, undefined control
sequence, although I do have the url package. I also get an error in
an normal tex page, although the finished result pdf does contain and
show the link.

Any ideas?

Example:

author = {{Gartner Research}},
title = {Hype Cycle for Emerging Technologies 2007},
howpublished = {Webseite},
month = {7},
year = {2007},
note = {\url{http://www.gartner.com/it/page.jsp?id=511347}

Es ist viel besser, wenn Du ein komplettes (!) Minimalbeispiel lieferst.
Woher sollen wir wissen, was Du alles falsch machst?
