SAIS is Cheapass Games' new PC space strategy and adventure game. It's not
a 4X game; Imagine playing a 20-minute "lite" version of Star Control 2
meets NetHack and you're getting warmer. Here is some information to help

In the 22nd century, colony ships were programmed to search for earthlike
planets along trajectories calculated to visit stars with the best
likelihood of habitable worlds. One such ship with its crew and passengers
in deep cryosleep traveled over 2300 light years before a suitable planet
was found.
Hope is a temperate world located in the Glory system on the edge of a vast
nebula some refer to as the Purple Void. The nebula is unique in that it
contains many unusual star types and other interesting phenomena.
Over 100 years have passed since the colonists first arrived. It is a new
beginning of deep space exploration. Technology has improved and mankind is
no longer dependent on slow cryoships and robot probes. This is the setting
of Strange Adventures In Infinite Space.

Explore exotic star systems; seek out new technologies, artifacts and

Strange Adventures In Infinite Space is different every time it is played.
Stars, planets, black holes, nebula mass, alien patrols, items, lifeforms
and other encounters are randomized for each new Strange Adventure.

Strange Adventures In Infinite Space demo
The SAIS demo is a considerably scaled-down version of the full game and is
designed to help players become familiar with the SAIS game system.
The demo version of SAIS features:
8 different ship types
29 different weapons, drives, shields, gadgets and artifacts
6 alien lifeforms
17 different planet and star types
2 unique alien races
The star map does not randomize for each game, instead, one fixed star map
with fewer stars to explore is provided for easy, normal and hard difficulty
settings.
No exotic weapons, useable artifacts or advanced ship systems are included
in this version of the game. It does, however, include the combat simulator
so players can prepare for the real thing.
