My Yamaha CDR100 (and CDR102) have been working fine until they got more and
more trouble
reading CDR media.
At the moment, both only read pressed CD-ROMs, but don't read CDRs or
blank CDR media anymore.
The servo keeps buzzing and looking for media, until I eject the CDR.

I used a cleaning CD, but that didn't help.
Any possibility to adjust the reader? increase sensitivity? adjust servo?

I had the same problem already twice before; its was fixed by Yamaha-Kemble,
but the price they ask is more than buying a new drive.

Where can I get a CDR100 maintenance manual?

Kind regards,
Jos

A similar problem. I own an Acer 6206 (2x2x6x) CDRW and a 4x4x32, also by Acer.
I bought the 4432 because I had problems like you
describe, on the 6206. Then I started having the same problem with the 4432
(it's still under warranty!!). I realized I had the problem with new
blank CD-Rs from Maxell. I tried other brands and had no problems. I am not
saying that the whole problem lies with Maxell, but I re-installed
the 2x CDRW in a second machine and successfully formatted a CDRW from Acer, so
no problems occurred over the 90 minutes that required.
What has been your experience? Are you a brand loyalist? Try different ones.
Good Luck
