I've got a cd rom 24x i think its made by some crappy company called Delta
or something, when i installed the drive i used my unviersal cd rom drivers
disc... it required me to pick a drive so i picked one at trial and erro
rtill igot one that worked.... windows installed fine and everything...
on problem under performance in device manager it says that my cdrom drive
is using a dos driver or something which is incompatible... surely windows
mscdex driver should take over? Cause the problem is that it would read cd's
with file names larger than 8 characters or 9 can't remember? how do i
switch it over to the mscdex driver?what the smeg is going on?
Cheers any help would be appreciated... by the way im on win95

Removing the reference to the CD driver in your startup files, autoexec or
config.sys (been ages since I used them so I can't recall which) might help.
Reboot and Windows should load a 32 bit driver. You really need 32 bit
drivers running. The software usually handles the CD burning.
