You may do it in variable-length packets leaving the disc open.

If all else fails, put the offending file inside a zip. That's a good way to
get around the problem of the "read-only" flag being set whenever you pull
files from a CD-ROM too. :-)

What operating system? Even Windows is limited to 128 characters.
