fehler bei configuration von tar.gz paketen

hallo

ich habe ein problem beim kompilieren von tar.gz paketen.
beim ausführen des befehls ./configure
bringt er mir folgenden fehler

checking for X... no
configure: error: Couldn't find X11 headers/libs. Try `./configure --help'.

(hab bisher schon gcc und bc als rpm installiert, damit er überhaupt soweit kommt)

wo kann ich diese x11 headers/libs finden? bei rpmseek hab ich nix gefunden.
ich benutze die 9.1er mandrake distribution.
