Hallo zusammen
Wie schon mal erwähnt, ich habe einen neuen Laptop.
Aber bei jeden Bootvorgang sehe ich nachfolgende
Meldung. Ich will sie hier nur mal posten.
Vielleicht muß ich mir ja sorgen machen. :-)

Der FireWire-Controller meckert, dass einige Zugriffe auf seine Register
nicht funktioniert haben. Es ist möglich, dass FireWire jetzt nicht
funktioniert. Könntest Du das testen?

Probier mal, ob sich bei folgenden Kommandos etwas ändert:
rmmod firewire-ohci
modprobe firewire-ohci quirks=16

Hmmm, Dell hat keine OUI, die mit "02" beginnt ...

Meine Glaskugel sagt, dass dies wahrscheinlich ein Agere FW533-E ist,
aber es wäre nett, wenn Du die Ausgabe von "lspci -s 2:0 -nnvv" zeigen
könntest.

Nö. Ich habe kein Feuer Kabel.
Ich poste das nur vorsichtshalber, nicht das irgendwann mein Rechner
in Rauchzeichen von sich gibt. Und vielleicht wollen die von
inux139...@lists.sf.net das ja wirklich wissen.

Ich meinte eigentlich, ob der Fehler noch auftritt.
(Nach den bekannten Informationen sollte er das jetzt nicht mehr.)

FireWire und SD werden nicht funktionieren, solange Du nicht quirks
angibst oder Kernel 3.1 oder einen aktuellen Bugfix-Kernel benutzt.

Auf firewire kann ich verzichten, aber der SD Kartenleser wäre ganz nett.
Den habe ich schon mal getestet, funktioniert aber nicht.
Das einfachste wäre wenn ich diesen Parameter angebe. Die frage ist nur wo.
Einen neueren Kernel habe ich gerade jetzt noch nicht gefunden.

ich habe es in /etc/modprobe.d/i915-kms.conf rein geschrieben.
gerade eben beim booten kam die Meldung wieder.

/sys/module/firewire_ohci/parameters/quirks
prüfen, ob's geklappt hat.

Hmm, falls Deine Distribution ein initramfs benutzt, muss dieses
