Thunderbird 3.1.9 does not save prefs.js

Hi,

I recently upgraded to TB 3.1.9. Unfortunately every time it starts the
migration wizard comes up and all configuration changes since the last
run are lost. In fact prefs.js is no longer written to the disk. Other
configuration files, like stored passwords are updated as expected.

Maybe it would work with a new profile, but this is not a reasonable
option for mail & news profiles.

Does anyone else have the same problem?
The profile is stored on a samba server for backup reasons, with write
permission of course.
