We are trying to install a delphi application on networks.
We get the following problem(s):
while installing we get the message 'merging has failed ....'
We solved this problem by putting the files
ceeurope.btl
eirope.btl
fareast.btl
japan.btl
other.btl
usa.btl
charset.cvb
and bantam.dll
in de bde directory.
After this we can start de bdeadministrator and have to create the aliases
manually.
On a local pc everyting works fine after this.
After this we placed de database files (Dbase) in a map on the fileserver.
Changing the directories in the BDEadministrator goes ok, but when we want
to start the application - still from the local machine - the program gives
an error right from the start
We have tried to install it several times even after deleting any key with
Borland in the registry.
Sometimes we get messages like 'filename unknown' or just an exceptionerror
without any info. The errors always apply to the Borland database engine.
Is there anybody who knows a solution ? This install procedure did work on
several places, but right now we have this problem at several locations.
Thanks,
Robert Le Roy
