In this article, we will show you how to configure your router using the web interface that it incorporates. You will need a computer with a web browser and an Ethernet cable to connect it to the router. You will also need your Telefónica ADSL username and password, which you can find in your contract or in the user manual that came with your kit.

Step 1: Change the Password
The first thing you need to do is to change the default password of the router, which is "1234". To do this, follow these steps:

Set a static IP on your computer, compatible with 192.168.1.1, for example 192.168.1.100.
Connect the Ethernet cable from your computer to one of the LAN ports of the router.
Open your web browser and type http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar.
Enter "admin" as the username and "1234" as the password.
Click on "Management" and then on "Access Control".
Click on "Password".
Type a new password in the "New Password" and "Confirm Password" fields.
Click on "Apply/Save".

You have successfully changed the password of your router. Remember to use it every time you access the web interface.

Step 2: Configure the Router
The next step is to configure the router according to your ADSL service type and preferences. You can choose between four different configurations: Multipuesto Dinámico (Dynamic Multiuser), Multipuesto Estático (Static Multiuser), Monopuesto Dinámico (Dynamic Singleuser) and Monopuesto Estático (Static Singleuser). The difference between them is whether you use a single IP address or multiple IP addresses for your LAN devices, and whether they are assigned dynamically by DHCP or statically by you.

We will explain how to create each configuration using the web interface of the router. You can also use the configuration wizard that comes with your kit if you have Windows operating system.

How to Create a Multipuesto Dinámico Configuration
This configuration is suitable for most users who want to share their ADSL connection among multiple devices using dynamic IP addresses assigned by DHCP. To create this configuration, follow these steps:

Open your web browser and type http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar.
Enter "admin" as the username and your new password as the password.
Click on "Advanced Setup" and then on "WAN".
Click on "Add".
Select "PPPoA" as the encapsulation mode.
Type your Telefónica ADSL username in the format adslppp@telefonicanetpa in the "PPP Username" field.
Type your Telefónica ADSL password in the "PPP Password" field.
Select "Enable NAT" and "Enable Firewall".
Select "VPI/VCI" as 8/32.
Select "UBR Without PCR" as the QoS type.
Click on "Next".
Select "Obtain an IP Address Automatically".
Click on "Next".
Select "Enable IGMP Multicast Proxy".
Click on "Next".
Select "Bridge Interface" as br0.</
