I am looking into taking german ISDN-devices (tiptel 195, hagenuk
speed-dragon) back and forth between France and Germany.

I would like to find out if there are any differences between the
Euro-ISDN provided by Deutsche Telekom and Euro-Numeris by France Télécom.
I am aware of the fact that both used in the past their own protocols
(1TR6 and VN2...VN5) ;

I am interested in here-and-now firsthand experience or knowledge,
especially about which functionality might not work on the french network.

All I have been told up to now sounds like they tried to push the
fud-factor (fear-uncertainty-doubt), saying that it might not work,
without being able to say exactly what.

Thanks a lot for sharing your experience.

I implemented a terminal which was approved for both networks a couple of
years ago - the differences are minor, but I don't have experience of the
speed-dragon. An official list of variances used to be available from France
Telecom (Deutsche Telekom claim to be fully compliant).

generally spoken, basic functions wil work if E-DSS1 is used; however, some
specific things like cost calculation, stuff like that may fail.
