We are pretty sure the people at the DC job screwed you. They said they'd
have
an answer in 6-8 wks (you interviewed in June, so 6-8wks would have been
August).

You called your interviewrs about a month ago (late Sept, I think) and
they basically said
"don't call us we'll call you", but no indicatin at all whether the job
had been
filled or not. You REALLY wanted that job bad, and you would have been
perfect for
it, I think. You have gone on alot of stupid interviews, but this was the
job you
really thought was right for you. . We are pretty sure they gave the job
to
someone else, which isn't the end of the world, I guess.... the bad part
is they
don't have the decency to spend the 32 cents on postage to send you a nice
rejection letter or something. You're right, you have the worst luck. And
only
about 50% of it is your own stupid doing, the rest really is just plain
old bad luck.

I am afraid that theyare going to pink-slip you at the end of this year.

They are laying people off alot where you are, since the merger. But
you've been there
20yrs, so at least you'll get a package that will help keep you solvent
for the
next 6 months while you keep looking.
