I've seen some interesting paper prints of google-satelite-images.

But when I try to save the image that I can see on my [I.E. displayed] PC,
it just savesthe road maps.
It was the same when I tried a different 'map' last month.

On I.E., while you can still see the sat-image you do:
-> page -> Save As
and then it opens a 'directory' where you can save 'the stuff'.

The *.mht file is saved in a txt-format, suitable for emailing;
which I don't particularly want. The various *.png which are
base64 decoded, in this file don't have the satelite image which I
can *SEE*.

Is it deliberately blocked from saving, so that you have to go
on-line to google every time you want to see it?

== TIA.

Use the PrtScr button then paste into a graphics editor and save.

Perhaps if you've got a suitable graphics printer connected,
<prt sc> would print the WHOLE screen?

"paste" ing commonly applies to <text stretches, although
an area of screen could be captured: effectively to 'paste'
an <image>.

I have to use this Win7-crap, to drive the wireless-modem,
else I could use screen-capture under *nix.
But I can't believe that g-stat images can't be SIMPLY saved,
unless they are deliberately blocked, for commercial reasons.

PrtScr doesn't print anything, it just saves the current screen dump to the clip buffer.
Other graphics programs will do similar, even savng just a certain window.

They're not simple images, that's why.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is my second reply.
Yes, <Webpage, complete> is a big improvement, because I
don't need to manually extract the [64base decoded] files, and
I have the 15 *png/*jpg files separate, which is what I need.

But!! The sat-picture, which I now still see in I.E. is NOT one
of the images saved. They all seem to be images which
where shown while I was <navigating, zooming> to my
FINAL image.

BTW, where's the <Bookmark> facility, which non
M$loth <browsers> have, to save me expensive on-line time to
go back to the same URL next month. Or is that what's now
labeled as <my favorites> to be more kiddie-sounding?

Then why does it save the images which which were seen at the initial fetch
[before navigating and zooming] to the final target, which I want to save.
If the image can be rendered on the computer-display, it uses some standard
format and can be saved and re-rendered.

Then I just need to find WHERE to clip-buffer is.
While searching on 'clip', this Micro$hit activated its IE and lost the
sat-image
that I've been saving for 3 days.

I'll use [Prt Screen] on another http-page and; if this was a proper OS, I
could
<List all files created/written/accessed in the last hour>

Are you sure your talking about Win7?

No, the image that I'm ALREADY looking at is in my PC.
Why should I pay to go on line again ?

I've been looking at the image in off-line mode for 2 days.
I'm only talking about google-maps.

The notion of BOOKMARK is hundreds of years old, and existed from
the first 'web browser' decades ago.

OK, I had to gooogle a 2 hour read of archived queries to find out
that PAINT is a commonly installed app. in Win.

Did you ever ask yourself WHY the <as I previously described>
"direct method" doesn't work.

If goog want's to prevent their sat images from being save, that's
OK. But I HATE, what the americans call "bait and switch".

What is the point of having the "direct method" save a series
of *.png/*jpg which are NOT the picture that the users sees and
obviously wants to save?
