problem with KDE screensaver

I have strange problem with the screensaver of my KDE 2.1.2 on a
suze 7.2. It's impossible to put it in function,I ever tried som
combinaison of screensaver like Kpyro and Kspace with different priority
and when it's time to put the screensaver in function the mouse pointer
desapear and the clock became fix, everything go in order as soon as I
took the mouse for example.
I'm puzzled because it's the second time I installed this system
and the firs time I had no problem.
Please could someone give me an idea on a direction to search?
