Hello everyone,
DDMSence v2.5.0 is now available for download. This is a stable, minor release which introduces thread safety for multithreaded environments. It is backwards compatible with all versions since v2.0.0. It should appear in the Maven Central Repository within the next few hours.
I consider this release stable, as I do not anticipate any breaking concerns. However, since multithreading issues are more likely to arise in real world contexts than in my unit tests, I plan to expedite patch releases over the next few months to reduce the impact of any newly discovered thread bugs.
Looking ahead, I will continue to upgrade DDMSence to stay consistent with the official specification. At year's end, DISA received a flurry of enhancement and support requests for DDMS, especially from IC partners. Although it is still unclear how this will translate into official support or new versions, I remain hopeful that there will be more official DDMS activity in 2015 than in the past 15 months. If your organization is using DDMS and has enhancement requests, they should be submitted through the official channels on the
Data Services Environment.
Happy New Year!
