As we all learned from the news, super Typhoon Haiyan, one of the worst storms in history, has caused extensive damage and pain in parts of the Philippines. It has been estimated that more than four million people that have been affected. DDMBA North America is committed to supporting relief efforts and assists those that have been touched by this catastrophic storm. Together, we can make a difference.

  

Master Sheng-Yen had once said, “Those who provide aid to people in need are the Bodhisattvas; those who suffered from pain and ordeals, are the Great Bodhisattvas” 

Our thoughts are with the victims and their families in the affected areas.  DDMBA North America is once again calling for your help!!  We have set up the Typhoon Haiyan Disaster Relief Fund, which needs everybody’s immediate support.  Hopefully our tokens of loving-kindness will meet their urgent needs and bring relief to their pain and sorrow.  From now through January 31st, 2014, the DDMBA North America will collect donations to benefit the people of Philippines.

 

Making a donation is easy and your donation will be greatly appreciated.  You may send a check to your local DDMBA Chapter and indicate the donation is for Typhoon Haiyan Disaster Relief.  Also, you may send the check to DDMBA, 90-56 Corona Ave. Elmhurst, NY 11373.  For more information, please call 718-592-6593.  We will do our best to promptly deliver your loving-kindness to the hands of the typhoon survivors.

 

Let us all pray and transfer all merits to those who sacrificed their lives and those who are in need of help.

2013年11月2日，颱風海燕登陸菲律賓，成為全球有記錄以來，登陸時風速最高的熱帶氣旋。而其強勁風力及引起的大規模風暴潮，則在菲律賓中部造成毀滅性破壞，傷亡嚴重。

法鼓山創辦人聖嚴師父曾開示表示: “救苦救難的是菩薩，受苦受難的是大菩薩”。法鼓山北美護法會本著人溺己溺的精神，發起募款，發揮一己之力，援助菲律賓災區災民。

我們將會以採購當地所需的民生物資、醫療用品，或提供安心的力量等相關物品為主，提供給災區. 妥善照顧到災區民眾的需求。
