1So there you have it...make sure you have two good centre backs though as

they are very important. This formation gets you millions of chances so

if you have a good striker you should score a lot of goals. If you're losing

with about 10 minutes to go, take of either 4 or 5 and put on a central midfielder

in his place. What records have you got in this game???Tell me how you get on.PhilP.S. Does anybody else play this game as it would be nice to chat to some more

people about it.

Although I have a deep knowledge of the English game I find

CM 93 a bit hard. I love the game its brilliant. So far I have been Liverpool for three seasons and I won

the Coca Cola cup in my first season but have had no luck since

then. I think if you play the wrong formation ie Direct Ball

does not suit Liverpool than they will not score many games.I know someone who within 20 seasons won all the trophies

had 100 million pounds and then bought Giggs for 9 million

pounds at the age of 38 or something. If you have CM 93 these are the players NOT to BUY

1.Le Tissier

2.Andy Cole

Being a Liverpool man I started with them, but in the 4th division,

not glory-hunitng like some. With a mixture of youngsters and

oldies, plus 3 very astute buys when I could afford to,

I came 2nd to Stockport in division, so promoted;

Got to the semi-final of the League Cup where I was beaten by, would you

believe. Ipswich, who unbelievably were relegated from the 1st (i.e. top)

division, and I beat Spurs at White Hart Lane!;

Made it to 4th Round of F.A.Cup;

Was robbed by 1 goal after being level on points in the Domark

Trophy group by Rotherham...but denied them promotion so got me own back!!!

Ended up well over half a million in profit and lured an experienced

defender for 300,000 at the beginning of the new season.Pity it will take a few years to get these records though!Best style of play...defo continental with two forward pushing full backs,

two attacking wingers, 4-4-2 or 4-5-1 with a forward pushing central

midfielder and one doing a Ronnie Whelan!!! (Im sure you know what

I mean!): Please help me with this game.

: Kamal HaiderTip...midfield is often the key, if youre getting less than 50%

then bolster it quick! Fast full backs and a midfielder who hangs

back can lead to less goals conceded. The Red Scouser

Buy the following players:

J.Scales (Wim.)

T.Johnson (Derby)

A.Goram (Scotland)

Giggs (Man. Utd.)

M. Sheron (Man. City)

V. Samways (Tot.)

R. Jones (Liverpool)

....a lot of good players to buy...Eric

It's not that. it depends on the type of players you buy. I.e. If

you play the long ball style, and have players who can't head the

ball, then you're obviously not getting the best out of them.

It's up to you how you want your team to play, just make sure you

have the players who have the necessary abilities.

Well, I've chosen Blackburn but I'm finding it difficult to attract players

I want like Gary McAllister to Ewood Park, because we're not big enough,

and besides, just when I have the 3 million I need to make a bid, his value

inconveniently leaps to 3.5 M. !!!So, I'm having to go for the players that cost slightly less (Like Batty, a

bargain at 1.5 million). As for the unbeatable 2-4-4 formation...well, it's not. Although it does create

loads of chances, and if you have good strikers, you'll reap the benifits.

Mmm, I dunno. He blows hot and cold a lot of the time, but he's invaluable when

he's performing well. I usually play him in central midfield.>2.Andy ColeBut he's only 19 or so when you start in 1993, so he's got a lot to learn, and

it's unreasonable to expect him to match the top premier scorers.>3.Alan ShearerWell, like I said, he's my striker since I've chosen Blackburn, and partnered

with Les Ferdinand, they're making quite a formidable strikeforce. I just

don't have the dosh to buy the wingers I want (Giggs, Sharpe, etc)Dean Saunders seems to be a regular top scorer. A good buy if you can get him

before he touches the wrong side of 30.CheersDel.

Its also quite amusing as in CM 93 Man Utd and Arsenal always

sack their managers before the first season ends.

In fact both teams were relegated in consecutive seasons. If you do purchase CM 93 and play Liverpool thenSell all their players apart fromRob Jones

Hutchison

Marsh

James

Redknapp

McmannamTry to sell John Barnes quickly. He loses form very quickly. In CM 94 Robbie Fowler is crap

Sell him aswell

Also a good way of getting rid of old players is transfer listing them. All the

players who are thirty will retire at the end of the season. This doesn't include

goalies, as they tend to retire later. And finally I've won the Treble in my first season at Liverpool.

Made Bolton win the League in two seasons.

And brought Wycombe to the Premier in three seasons.Colin MaginnisP.s. If you want any other advice I've got lots more tips for the game if you can be

bothered to e-mail me.

I have also experimented with a 3-5-2 formation, as i found the lack of

wings in the first one boring :)

This also works good, although not as unbeatable. Most styles work well

but I prefer continental. Try to get some decent central defenders (Tony Adams

spring to mind, no flames please :->)All in all en excellent game, but too easy to win. Let's hope for a tougher

challenge in the next release.-lars-

Oppps... slight mistake on my part, yes Adebola at Crewe and Akinbiyi at

somewhere like Hartelpool, can't remember...both are good tho! Also, for managers of lower league teams David Money is an amazing

scorer....something like (year 2000) 500 games and 333 goals, at least 20 a

season - he's at Scarborough I think...bought him for my QPR team, 14 games

7 goals but couldn't compete with Armstrong and Lancashire (another

excellent striker, at Burnley)

I did a little experiment where I found out that left- and right-backs have no

role in the game! If you only use center defenders your defence will be just

as strong. I have developed a formation that workes so well that you win just

about every game:896

1I have found out that a player that is good in a game you are playing now may

be useless in the next game you start, so don't judge them forever if they

fail you. Young players that usually do well: Kevin Watson & Nick Barmby

(Spurs), George Ndah (DA C), Bart-Williams (MA CR), Kavanagh (MA CR), Alan

Shearer (Blackburn), Tommy Johnson, Martin Kuhl (Darby, Kuhl isn't young but

great value for money), Richard Hall (Southhampton ?)>Eric
