How to Update Your SPD-30
Updating your SPD-30 will give you access to new features and improvements, such as new kit names, instrument names, and effects. To update your SPD-30, follow these steps:
- Extract the zip file on your computer to get two files: "spd30.bin" and "spd30_prog1.bin".
- Copy these two files onto the root directory of your USB-memory device. Do not copy the folder that contains them.
- Eject the USB-memory device from your computer and connect it to your SPD-30 with the power turned off.
- Turn on your SPD-30 while holding down the [F3] button. You will see a screen that shows the current version and the new version of the system program.
- Press [F1] to start the update process. It will take about 20 seconds to complete.
- When you see "completed" on the screen, turn off your SPD-30 and disconnect the USB-memory device.
- Turn on your SPD-30 again and check the system program version by choosing MENU -> SYSTEM -> INFO. It should show Version 2.03 or later.
