Authorised Children’s Minister Course
The Authorised Children’s Minister Course covers aspects of children’s ministry by exploring
children’s development, spirituality, formation and discipleship; new approaches and current
best practice alongside expanding personal skills to enable participants to be visionary
leaders within their parish and throughout the Diocese.
The course aims to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills necessary for the
successful completion of the course and chosen project, within a safe and supportive
learning environment.
The course runs from January to September and includes four Saturday sessions as well as four
shorter zoom sessions. There is approx. ten hours of self-directed preparation/study/journal
work and two sessions of one hour each with the course facilitator. In total, the course should
take no more than 60 hours.
There is no formal assessment for this course, however feedback and evaluations, plus
attendance, discussions, achievements, presentation of project and journal will all count to
success.
Before starting the Authorised Children’s Minister Course, you are advised to discuss this
with your Incumbent or vicar to determine if you feel it is right for you.
