Identity

 

Rabbi, said Judas as he kissed him.

Friend, said Jesus, as Judas kissed him.

Blasphemer, said the High Priest,

as he tore his own clothes.

Prophet? Said the staff as they beat him.

I don’t know him, said Peter, terrified.

Father, prayed Jesus, as they crucified him.

Forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.

Forgive us, let us pray.
