The Kingdom

 

The Prophet told of the end of the Kingdom,

of Jerusalem’s desolation.

The Lord, Jesus, spoke of the Kingdom’s coming,

and of Jerusalem’s destruction.

He celebrated, one final time,

the Passover remembrance,

in a borrowed guest room.

“Never again till the Kingdom comes”.

In Heaven now he celebrates afresh,

for the Kingdom has come,

the sacrifice is accomplished,

the Lord’s Prayer is granted.

 

We who share bread broken

and the cup of salvation

proclaim him until he comes.
